Titanium Backup is probably the most useful app in the android market.  While it wou1ld be gr1eat if all android phones had this app you MUST HAVE YOUR PHONE ROOTED in order to use it.  You can tell if your phone is rooted when you run Titanium Backup because it will tell you if its not or it will as for superuser access if it is.  Be sure to allow superuser access and remember the decision for titanium backup to work properly.

If your like me and moved from the iPhone to an Android phone you miss only a few things.  One of these is the fact that when you receive a text message it just makes a noise and shows up in the notification bar.  With SMS Popup, text messages popup on the screen and give you the options to delete, close, or reply to them.

While using the SMS Popup app we have noticed a few different benefits.  One of the features that we found useful is the fact that when your on your device running an app that goes full screen texts pop over the screen.  This allows you to close it out or answer it without leaving the app your currently in.

UPDATE: After using the SMS Popup app for a while I decided that I like it better than the native SMS notifications that I generally get on other devices and now actually have this one on my daily use device.  Those of you that have been using it for a while I would love to hear how you like it.  There are others like it but this one seems  to be the best so far.

Setup Youmail on your Motorola Atrix

First thing you need to know is that trying to let YouMail change the settings on your Atrix will not work. This will create an error saying something like “Invalid MMICode”. To get YouMail working follow the few simple steps below.

1. Go to the Android Market and download YouMail. Once its installed run it and go through the process of setting up your account.

2. Go to your Phones call settings and click on voicemail settings (Settings — Call Settings — Voicemail Settings) and change the voicemail number to 1-949-265-2922 and click ok. What this does is tells your phone to call that number to check your voicemail aka when you get the new voicemail notification and click it what the phone should do.

3. Go to your phones call settings and near the bottom select call forwarding (Settings — Call Settings — Call Forwarding) and change forward when busy, forward when unanswered and forward when unreachable to 1-949-265-2922. What this is doing is telling your phone where to send the person calling. Changing this number will send incomming missed calls to YouMail instead of your default carriers voicemail.
