Mobile ODIN is an app that is an on-device ODIN utility that allows you to flash firmware directly from the device. This removes having to connect your device to a computer to flash firmwares although bootloader partitions and EFS aren’t flashed via the app since its on the device.
Mobile ODIN is now at version 2.0 which has added support to many more devices and updated kernels for previously supported devices. The lite version can be found at XDA, and the pro version can be found on the Android Market. This being said the lite version is functional enough for the average user to easily use.
New Devices added to Mobile ODIN 2.0:
- Samsung/Google Galaxy Nexus, GSM and CDMA/LTE variants
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7″, 3G and Wi-Fi variants
- Samsung Galaxy 5, eight different models
Devices that have been updated in version 2.0:
- Samsung Galaxy S
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″ (the original 7″ tab)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 (2 models)
- Samsung Galaxy Note (2 models)
As we see new devices and updated devices within Odin we will let everyone know. Most people prefer apps other than odin like ROM manager but for those loyal to Odin this update should prove useful even for devices that you already use it for after the updates. If you use the app and have found any issues please let us know. Also those of you that have additional questions about the app we would be interested in trying to answer those as well.
