If you have a Droid X and haven’t updated to Gingerbread because you want to keep root access its finally here. Most of you need the Gingerbread update to fix the many bugs on the Droid X that have been fixed with the Android Gingerbread update.
Important Step:
Your Droid X must be Rooted on the Official Froyo 2.3.340 using z4root. If you aren’t on this version and rooted then use the following article to flash your Droid X back to the stock ROM: Flash the Droid X back to the Froyo 2.3.340 Stock Rom

If your Droid X is running the stock Froyo 2.3.340 ROM but not rooted then use the following article to root the device: Root the Droid X on Stock Froyo 2.3.340 ROM
After you have flashed back to the stock ROM and rooted your device using z4root continue the process using the steps below:
Install the Droid 2 version of Bootstrap (Download Link)
Download and place the following files on the root of your SDcard (Link 1)(Link 2)
Run bootstrap and reboot into recovery
Install part 1 then part 2 before leaving recovery
Reboot your Droid X
Congrats your are Done!
why are link 1 and link 2 both named ‘part 1’?????? i hope i didnt just wipe my phone for nothing because someone did a typo and didnt provide a link to part 2.
for those that noticed the typo just change the last ‘1’ in the url for part 1 to a ‘2’ like so and you can now download both parts!
