Those of you that use AdBrite to monetize your websites have been waiting a while now for an Android app. We have developed an Android app for AdBrite that allows users to see some of their stats easily from your mobile device. While this is still being developed it is functional and has many of the major features you need to access from a phone.

Dashboard that you see when you first log in laid out easily to understand with all of the data you see when logging in from AdBrites website.
Ad zone view that shows each of your ad zones and the income from them over the previous 7 days. Each ad zones earnings are broken down by type of ad as well.
Twelve month earnings that show the current month all the way back a year and the earnings for each of them.

Mobage Coins (mobacoins) and the Need For Them.
To be completely honest mobacoins are expensive in relation to other mobiles games when it comes to spending real world money on virtual items. While mobacoins can help you progress throughout whichever game you have chosen they are rarely if ever required for anything in game. In general anything you can buy with mobacoins can be earned through regular game play. This being said Mobage Coins are not required to enjoy their games without spending a dime.
In conclusion Mobage has a great balance of games and features for a freemium structure. They power the best mobile games that can be downloaded for free without forcing any form of payment ever. The argument of who has the best $200 tablet has been easily won by the Google Nexus 7 over the Kindle Fire until now with the release of the Kindle Fire HD. From the start we will go ahead and say we still feel the Nexus 7 is the best low budget tablet even with the release of the new Amazon HD but the race is much closer. In fact its down to what you use it for and personal opinion as of yesterday.
Below we will compare some of the major features of each device, mostly from a hardware and overall software stance.
What is better about the Google Nexus 7 than the Amazon Kindle Fire HD:
First and formats the Nexus 7 comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while the Kindle Fire HD will be loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. If we know anything about Amazon they will likely never update to Jelly Bean for the simple fact that their version of the Android OS is so highly customized. Second major difference where the Nexus 7 wins is with its Tegra 3 quad-core processor while the Kindle Fire HD will be using the older dual-core OMAP processor. The Nexus 7 is also a lighter device weighing in at 340 grams with the Kindle Fire HD coming in at 395 grams. The Nexus 7 has Google Play and its 600,000 plus apps along with the ability to install the Amazon App Store while the Kindle Fire HD will only have access to the Amazon App Store’s 50,000 apps. A few of the other smaller features that the Nexus 7 will have over the Kindle Fire Hd is Google Now, NFC, Voice Commands, and a few others.
What is better about the Amazon Kindle Fire HD than the Google Nexus 7:
The one major positive hardware feature that the Kindle Fire HD has is its initial 16GB of storage capacity where the Nexus 7’s $200 model only comes with 8GB. Even when upgrading the Nexus 7 has up to 16GB of storage and Kindle Fire HD can hit 32GB. The Kindle Fire HD gets about 1 hour more from a full charge at 11 hours while the Nexus 7 lasts about 10 hours on one charge. Some of the other features that the Kindle Fire HD has that you will not see on the Nexus 7 is Dolby Digital Plus, and HDMI output, and a few other small ones.
What do the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD have in common:
One of the key features in a tablet is its screen resolution and both the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire Hd have a 7″ screen with a 1280×800 screen resolution. The difference is type with the Nexus 7 having a 1280×800 HD 216ppi and the Kindle Fire HD with its 1280×800 HD LCD IPS display. Both devices come with 1GB of RAM and a front facing camera. We aren’t sure what the camera on the Kindle Fire HD it but can assume it will not be much better if at all than the Nexus 7’s 1.2 MP camera. Both have about the same dimensions with the Kindle Fire HD about .15 mm thinner but 17 mm wider.
When choosing between the Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD it will all come down to what you want to do with your Tablet. Those that are into gaming or molding will be better off with the Nexus 7 although if your reading books and watching movies the Kindle Fire HD may be the right tablet for you. Either way you will have a great piece of hardware. We personally like the Nexus 7 due to the pure Android experience and speeds but not all users will notice this.
Amazon will not be releasing a 10-inch Kindle Fire at next weeks launch event, they have stated that their Kindle Fire 2 (or whatever they call it) will be an improved 7-inch version of its original. Amazon will be releasing the next Kindle Fire with the same 7-inch form factor as the original with a possibly thinner form and improved specifications.
While Amazon rumors have pointed towards a 10-inch Fire along with an Amazon smartphone, Amazon has reportedly decided to stick with what has already worked for them in the past and not venture too far from it. Their next 7-inch Kindle Fire will be in direct competition to Google’s Nexus 7 and will be priced accordingly.
According to BGR’s rumored Amazon Kindle Fire 2 specifications the new Kindle Fire will have a faster processor, physical volume controls, an HDMI port and add a camera. These were some of the most critical aspects of the original Amazon Kindle Fire and by adding these things should create a competitor to the Google Nexus 7.
There has been no official price set for the new Amazon Kindle Fire 2 although we can assume with a great deal of confidence that it will follow suit and be around the $199 range to be competitive. This being said the improved specifications could create a price point that Amazon would have to increase in order to keep from losing too much on sales. We see that Google managed to stick with the competitive $199 on their Nexus 7 even though they have the increased specs so heres hoping.
Every football fan knows that we love to coach from the couch and now we will have the NFL Game Rewind App on our Android tablets to make it even easier. NFL Game Rewind give us the ability to watch on-demand NFL games from the 2012 season after they have aired. Based on the tier of membership you could actually watch last seasons playoff games and even all regular season games from 2009 to date. You can watch not only the entire game but also if you prefer there will also be a condensed version of each game that is only around 30 minutes.
Also based on your membership level there is coaches film available so you can see the game as the couch does when they get to the office the following day. There is a web version of this app although the tablet version has some added features. Blood Brothers is a freemium multiplayer RPG that can be downloaded for free via the Google Play Store. While this is a free game to download and play there are added benefits to paying for coins with real money to speed up the process. This being said, everything in the game that is purchased can be achieved by playing and the only real benefit is the speed at which you become a strong player. There is a degree of luck since when it comes to familiars (which are your actual players) you will use coins to get one randomly whether you paid for it or earned it.
First Starting Blood Brothers and Choosing your Warlord:
The very first thing you will do in Blood Brothers is choosing your leader or Warlord. You can tap on each of the selections to see the details of that familiar, be sure to take your time and get the right Warlord here because this will be your leader throughout the game. Once you choose your Warlord you will be ready to start your adventure.
Blood Brothers Tutorial When Starting your Adventure:
Once you have chosen your Warlord and begin your adventure a short tutorial will start where you will gain your initial few levels and learn all of the controls within the game. At this point you should have a pretty good understanding of how to play Blood Brothers and how to navigate through the maps.
Blood Brothers Referral Code Bonus:
After you have completed the tutorial you will have a chance to add a referral code within the game. Whether you have been referred or not you will want to put one in since it will give you some starting bonuses (you can either use mine “7wUQib” or find someone else’s online) either way your bonus will be the same no matter who’s code you use. Of course there is another side to this as the person who’s code you use will also get a bonus for the referral so if you have a friend playing use theirs (if not hook me up its “7wUQib“). Take note that if you wait too long without entering the code you will no longer have the ability to do so and forfeit the bonus.
Blood Brothers Adventures (Zones):
The primary way for you to get experience, in game cash, items and familiars is traveling through the adventures in the game. When battling familiars within the map you will gain experience with the chance of forming a pact with those you beat. In PVE battles you must keep your Warlord alive or you are defeated. When you hit a chest you will get either gold or an item while there are other chests called coffers that you hold until you clear the zone. These coffers will give you gold, items or coins. When you clear a zone you will also get a bonus of coins, gold, or items.
Blood Brothers PVP Battles:
As you navigate through each zone you will randomly get a PVP battle notification where you can choose between three other players to battle. If you win three battles in a row you will get a streak bonus that progressively gets better (after 3 in a row, 6 in a row, 9 in a row, etc). When battling in PVP you have three standard attacks but can add another if you run out using a horn also you have the choose of standard attack using one attack or an All-Out attack which uses all three. Unlike adventure battles your Warlord can die as long as one of your other familiars stay alive.
Blood Brothers Blood Brotherhood:
You can create blood brothers by sacrificing familiars that you will not use to increase the skill level of a more powerful familiar. You can sacrifice up to eight familiars at a time when increasing a familiars skill. You will first select the familiar that you want to increase skill on and then the others after will be the sacrifice. Be careful as once a familiar is sacrificed you cannot get it back so be sure not to select any of your powerful ones during the process. Also once a familiars skill is increased to level 20 you can no longer increase the skill. When a familiars skill is increased it not only increases the effectiveness of the skill but also the chances of it being used.
Blood Brothers Evolution of Familiars:
You can evolve any familiar that has at least one star. What you will need for the evolution process is two of the same familiar. You will frist select a familiar that you want to evolve and then the other familiar that will be sacrificed as the seed. The seed that is sacrificed will be lost forever after the process is completed so be sure to pick the right one. When you evolve a familiar the first one you select will get 5% of the seeds stats, on a side note if the seed is max level you will get 10% of its stats. Also keep in mind that when you evolve a familiar you will have to start over leveling it up.
Blood Brothers Stats and Levels:
All familiars within the game have five stats for health, attack, defense, wisdom and agility. Besides the stats themselves there is a growth rate which determines how quickly they gain levels within the game.
Health(HP) – Damage a familiar can take before death
Attack – Damage that is dealt by the familiar in battle
Defense – effects the damage that is taken by a familiar in battle
Wisdom – The effectiveness of a familiars skills
Agility – How often the familiar will attack
Familiars are ranked by your chance of receiving them when using a coin, these ranks are C for common, UC for uncommon, R for Rare and EP for Epic. In addition to stats and rank you have energy that is used every time you move in a zone and battle points which are used in PVP battles (explained above). Both your energy and battle points will recharge over time as well as items that can be used to regenerate them instantly. Mandrake root recharges your energy and horns recharge your battle points.
Blood Brothers Stat Increase using Crystals:
As you progress and especially when completing in events you will find crystals that can be used to increase a specific stat permanently on one of your familiars. Each stat can be increased up to 10 times using crystals and each crystal increases the associated stat by 50 points.
Blood Brothers Events:
Periodically Mobage will hold in game events for a short time (currently a 5 day event). If you can take part in events and are in the top 5000 players or so you will be rewarded with items and familiars. The events ranking will consist of all players but the zones available will be based on your skill level. You can join in any event zone although be prepared to get destroyed if you jump in one that is too difficult.
Blood Brothers Allies:
After you complete a PVP battle you will be given the option to Ally with the player you just battled. If you request them as an ally and they are already at their 50 ally limit the request will be automatically rejected. Once your ally request goes through the requested will have the option to accept or deny the request. You can add anyone and remove them as you like. I haven’t found the benefit to allies yet although if one is found I will be sure to update here.

The easiest solution to fixing device errors is doing a factory reset or “hard reset”. What a hard reset is, is basically a software process that erases all information that has been added to the device since turning it on for the first time.
There are many reasons to do a factory reset on your Android device like getting it ready to sell, corruption to the file system by apps, or just slow down from everyday usage.
NOTE: Factory resetting the Samsung Galaxy S3 will erase all data on the device so be sure to backup anything that you don’t want lost forever.
How to Factory Reset (Hard Reset) the Samsung Galaxy S3:
View your Apps and tap on the “Settings” app
Once in Settings tap on the “Storage” tab
Scroll to the bottom and tap on “Factory Data Reset”
Follow on screen instructions and select “Erase Everything”
Last confirm the action by tapping “Yes”
Your Galaxy S3 will now reboot after the process is completed

There has been a collaboration between the Department of Justice, FBI, multiple US attorneys’ offices, Dutch and French law enforcement to seize Android based piracy websites. The Department of Justice released a statement noting that this is the first time domains involved in mobile phone app marketplaces have been seized.
“Software apps have become an increasingly essential part of our nation’s economy and creative culture, and the Criminal Division is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to protect the creators of these apps and other forms of intellectual property from those who seek to steal it,” said Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the DOJ’s Criminal Division.
If you visit appbucket.net, appplanet.net or snappzmarket.com you will now notice they are under Federal control showing a seizure banner. The seizer banner states that these websites have been taken over and reminds users that willful copyright infringement is a federal crime with heavy penalties for anyone found guilty.
“This domain name has been seized by the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by a United States District Court under the authority of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 981 and 2323.
Willful copyright infringement is a federal crime that carries penalties for first time offenders of up to five years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, forfeiture and restitution (Title 17, United States Code, Section 506, Title 18, United States Code, Section 2319).”
This collaboration of different divisions of law enforcement during the course of their investigation where able to download thousands of copies of popular mobile apps free of charge. The notice given highlights the fact that other countries usually host the apps on servers being sold through third parties. This fact is why other countries law enforcers were brought into the investigation.
This is bad news for those that are used to getting all of their apps for free, or at least a discounted price. This being said, those developers that are being taken advantage of will now have more income from the apps that they have developed to help improve their offerings.
MobileTechMall was featured on Woot.com’s community sourced deals with a set of Beats By Dre Solo HD headphones. These headphones were listed for $49.99 + shipping, and actually are still listed on Woot at the time of this article. There were many people that purchased these headphones and posted very negative reviews on them through Woot.
We were in that list of people and decided that since we have a relatively popular presence on the Internet that we should share our experience and expose MobileTechMall for the scammers that they are. MobileTechMall has claimed on numerous occasions that the Beats headphones that they are selling are just the original version of the popular headphones and are legit. This is not the case as we have reviewed them and noticed on our own pair that both sides of the headphones say “R”, since nobody has two right ears this was our first clue. Second clue is that they offer the headphones in yellow which is not a color that Beats offers. Moving on there is no “Solo HD” written anywhere on the headphones as they are on the real versions. As if this wasen’t enough the headphones have a wire coming down from each earphone instead of just on one side and the headphones themselves feel very cheap compared to the real Solo HD headphones.
If your interested in getting a set to look like you spent the money on a real set of Beats Solo HD’s then go for it but also keep in mind that the set we ordered just got delivered yesterday, over a month and a half after they were ordered. On top of this we tried on many occasions to contact MobileTechMall about the order with absolutely no response. They just showed up out of the blue and are worse than the cheapest headphones you have in your house already.
The moral of this story is MobileTechMall is a scam and while they will send you something that seems to be what you ordered (eventually) they will be knockoffs. If you have ordered anything that has not been the real deal that you thought you were getting let us know below via comments.
You can now make outgoing and receive incoming phone calls with your Nexus 7, or any other Android tablet, using your Google Voice number. Keep in mind that both methods of turning your Android tablet into a phone require root access in order to make the changes to the required files. Also both methods will trick your Nexus 7 or other Android tablet into thinking it is voice capable and allows the voice dialer app to work as a normal phone through Google Voice.
Incoming calls are handled with an app that you will have to setup your call number and routing through like CSipSimple. Before you choose a method keep in mind that the first which is the manual way is the best but also the most difficult and will require a good knowledge of the Android OS, mostly hackers and tweakers only should try the first method. The manual method created by XDA member “bongostl” also allows users to get calls on their device and gmail while the second method only allows one or the other.
