How to Reset Frozen HTC Inspire (Battery Pull)

0

Those of you with an Android phone know that frozen devices generally require a battery pull to reset them. In the case of phones like the HTC Inspire 4G the battery does not look like it can be removed although this is not the case its just not as obvious as taking the back off the device. You can either follow the video here or the instructions below.

How to Fix a Frozen Screen on HTC Inspire:

  1. pull the cover off of the side of the phone where the volume rocker is (the darker gray piece.
  2. hit the volume side of the phone against your hand and the battery will slide out enough for the phone to turn off.
  3. push the battery back into the phone and replace the plastic cover.
  4. Turn your phone on and it should boot up as normal.

Of course its always easier to just take a look at the video because its a little harder to explain then to show.

If your HTC Inspire is still freezing when you turn it on you may want to perform the battery pull to restart it followed by booting directly into recovery mode and performing a factory reset. I say this because its likely a software bug that can be easily repaired by getting everything back to its stock condition.
