Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Android App Review

Disney's Pirate's of the Caribbean Master of the Sea's

Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas Andorid App is what you would call a freemium game. What this means is that the game is completely free to download and start playing although it does allow in game purchases to help throughout the game. While many Freemium games like Pirates of the Caribbean lack seriously in game play without actually paying for content this is not the case with Master of the Seas as you can play forever and completely without ever spending a dime, it will just take a little longer.

How close is the game Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas to the actual Disney movie?
You will see Johnny Depp on just about every screen and to complete missions you need to answer questions that have a little to do with events in the movie. There are islands throughout the small ocean that is the map the game is laid on that have names from the movie. There is however no real objective that has anything to do with the movie itself.

How in depth is the Game play in Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas?
You will start with an island small ship and low title. As you gain levels by completing missions you will unlock new islands with additional missions to complete. Also as you progress your ship will upgrade along with your title. There are twenty islands with missions to complete along with many missions that require Gems to complete (these can be purchased). What is unique about Pirates of the Caribbean is that you have a beautiful map that you can travel throughout and the entire thing is not just click and skill.

What PVP Features are in Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas?
Pirates of the Caribbean has a nicely put together PVP aspect where while you are looking over the map you can see other players floating around and attack them if you’d like. When you defeat another player they will be told and have the opportunity to retaliate.

What are the Social features in Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas?
Throughout the game you will need to get crew members and these members will allow you to do some missions that require multiple crew members. Also these crew members will allow you to get stronger by buying items that increase your attack and defence skills (1 of each item per crew memebr). Your crew members can send you items, gold, energy or stamina daily in the form of a gift along with you gifting to them.

What costs real money in Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas?
The great thing about Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas is that even though there are gems available for purchase you can get them for free within the game a few different ways. The ways you can get gems for free are leveling, purchaseing land on islands that give you gems after set amounts of time as well as looting floatsum that is all arounf the map.

Overall Pirates of the Caribbean Master of the Seas is a great freemium Android and iOS game that combines many different methods of gameplay with premium HD graphics. Its a fun game with many hours of gameplay although once you unlock all of the islands, own all properties available and complete all of the missions you are basically just attacking other players for fun. You are capped at level 60 and at that point are basically done and will need to move on to a new game.

Root the Motorola Photon 4G on Gingerbread 2.3.4

This is the One Click root method for the Motorola Photon 4G. Previously the best way to root the Photon was using webtop then there was a way through ADB, now its as easy as opening a batch file and waiting for the phone to reboot a few times. With or without knowledge of ADB or even Android at all you can easily root the Photon 4G in a few prep steps and double clicking a file.

Root the Photon 4G on Android 2.3.4 (One Click Root):

  1. Download and Extract the Motorola One Click Exploit (Download Link)
  2. Put your Photon 4G in USB Debugging mode (Settings -> Applications -> Development)
  3. Plug your Photon into the PC via USB
  4. Open the folder containing the Exploit you downloaded
  5. Run the file MotorolaOneClickRoot.exe
  6. Wait patiently for 3 reboots (the window will tell you when complete)
  7. Congrats your Motorola Photon 4G is Rooted!

Android Andvice and tutorials are in no way responsible for the use of these files. Root at your own risk although this has been tested personally and works great.

Turn Off the Motorola Photon 4G Shutter Sound

The Motorola Photon 4G has a very annoying and loud shutter sound when taking a picture on the device. You can remove this sound very easily although it does require root access. There is an app called “Enforced Stream Silencer” that quite simply turns your camera sound on and off with a checkbox and nothing else within the app.

How to turn off the shutter sound on the Photon 4G:

  1. Root your Motorola Photon 4G (Root Instructions)
  2. Set your Photon to allow Unknown Sources (Settings -> Applications)
  3. Download and install “Enforced Stream Silencer” (Download Link)
  4. Run the App and select the checkbox to silence the camera shutter
  5. Go to your Camera app and take a shot
  6. Enjoy the Silence!

This was brought to us courtesy of motojl123 over at the Motorola Forums. We aren’t sure why Motorola made the shutter sound on the Photon so loud and without the ability to turn it off although its nice to have people like motojl123 that are willing to help us use our phones the way we should be allowed.

Disney’s “Where’s My Water” Android App Review

Wheres My Water Disney Android App

“Where’s My Water” is a free physics game with a paid version that features an alligator that really needs a bath. The point of the game is to solve puzzles that increase in diffuculty as you continue through the levels. Disney created “Where’s My Water” with great graphics and sound effects that pull a great game with fun puzzles together. The game is marketed to children although is fun for adults as well (to be honest some levels took me a few tries to complete).

How Easy is “Where’s My Water” to Play:
While the game can take a little bit to figure out it shows very detailed instructions for each level. Based on the device you are running “Where’s My Water” on, it can take a little longer than you would like to load.

“Where’s My Water” will take a little patience from younger kids although it will teach them great problem solving skills. Once your kids get the hang of it they will be addicted. There are many worse things to be addicted to then a brain trainer like “Where’s My Water”. As stated before there is a free version although it will only set you back $.99 if you want the full version.

Disney’s Where’s My Water on the Android Market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disney.WMWLite

Where’s My Water for Android requires Android 2.1 or higher and takes 22.34 MB. We recomend running it on a newer device to reduce load times although most Android devices that have Froyo and up work really well.

Root the HTC Inspire 4G (HackAce Method Explained)

Basically the HTC Inspire is more complicated version of the European Desire. Rooting the Inspire is actually a very easy process although it can be overwhelming to look at when your reading it from the developer (let’s face it he is smarter when it comes to this than we are or we wouldn’t need his method to root). It is best to make sure you do this on a PC that does not and has not ever been associated with any mobile devices to ensure everything goes smooth.

Pre-Requisites to Root the HTC Inspire with HackAce:

  • Disable Virus and Malware protection on your PC
  • Make sure anything connected via USB is disabled (or unplugged)
  • Make sure HTC Sync and drivers are removed completely.

How to Root the HTC Inspire easily with HackAce:

  1. Download and Extract Hackace (Download Link)
  2. Install the drivers from the HackAce files you downloaded
  3. Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Inspire (settings -> applications -> development)
  4. Make sure Inspire is in Charge only mode by default when plugged in (settings -> connect to pc)
  5. Connect your Phone to your PC via USB
  6. Run “hack-ace-xph.cmd” as Administrator

What happends next?
Basically HackAce will move the required files to your HTC Inspire and temporarily root the device. This will then turn your SDcard into a goldcard, set radio s-off and set SuperCID. As a bonus it will also remove the SIMLOCK during this process and it will install ClockworkMod Recovery and perm root the Inspire. Last it will Install Superuser for root priveledge management. Your Inspire will reboot several times during the root process and is normal.

If this tool is helpful to you then you should think about donating to the developer. Also there is more information if you run into any issues during this process via the reference link below. We are in no way responsible for your use of this information although will gladly answer any questions you have via comments below.

Google Android Market is now “Google Play”

Google Play Android Market

Google has decided to revamp the Google Android Market and give it a new name “Google Play”. This change will also create a new structure for categories and renaming of existing categories like Music to Play Music, Movies to Play Movies and Books to Play Books. The new design is available as part of the latest Android Mobile update.

Google Play is available on not only mobile devices but also computers, laptops and Chromebooks. You can now purchase an app and access it from any device. Technology experts have stated that its a very clever move for Google to rebrand with their name in the title. A news editor for CNET UK, Rich Trenholm wrote:

“This [rebrand] took me by surprise, but it’s a smart move.
“As enormously popular as Android phones are, Google is still a word that’s far more recognisable to ordinary folk…Tech-savvy phone fans may grasp the concept of Android, but that doesn’t mean friends, family and other[s] do. Mobile phones are as mainstream as it gets these days, so anything Google can do to brand its offerings as simple and unified and understandable, in words of one syllable, is going to help its cause.”

Disable Amazon App Store Notifications

The Amazon App Store is the best alternative to the Google Android Market currently available although don’t you get annoyed at its notifications? It is worth the notifications for the free app a day allowing you to create an impressive collection of Android apps without costing you a thing. Even with it being worth it you can now remove these annoying notifications with the Amazon App Store’s recent update.

While Amazon needs a way to subsidize its giving away of apps every day and the notifications are a way of doing this we can’t be expected to get 10 or so notifications a day and be happy about it. Amazon has finally made it possible to create a better user experience by disabling these notifications if you wish.

All you need to do is download the newest version of the Amazon App Store and it will have the setting required to take care of the notifications.  This will require Amazon App store version 2.2 of newer.

How to Disable Push Notifications from the Amazon App Store:

  1. Open the Amazon Appstore
  2. Tap the menu button and select “Settings
  3. Select “Notifications” (about half way down the list)
  4. Uncheck the boxes you don’t want to receive notifications for

Hope this helps those of you that have been getting the massive number of push notifications from the app.  If you have any issues after following the instructions above let us know.

UPDATE: So after disabling all notifications from within the Amazon Appstore app everything was great and we received no push notifications for a while.  What we did notice is after the next update all of the notifications automatically re-checked themselves.  What this means is that you will need to follow the instructions above each time you update the app store.

The Archos ChildPad is a 7 inch tablet for children that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and offers a wide range of kids games and educational materials. Archos has skinned the ChildPad tablet with a child friendlyinterface with bright colors and folders that go straight to kids games, entertainment and puzzles.
